    Understanding EICR codes

  • ✓C1 (Danger present): Must be remedied immediately
  • ✓C2 (Potentially dangerous): Urgent remedial action required
  • ✓C3 (Improvement recommended): Not required for satisfactory report
  • ✓FI (Further investigation required)
  • What if the EICR is unsatisfactory?

C1 or C2 codes mean the installation is Unsatisfactory. You must complete remedial work within 28 days. Failing to comply can result in civil penalties up to £30,000 and invalidation of your landlord insurance.
